Our tavern is a place to unwind, share stories and enjoy good company. To keep the atmosphere welcoming and enjoyable for all, every patron is expected to follow the code below.

Eclipse staff reserves the right to stop destructive behaviour in the game or on the website. Such behaviour includes, but is not limited to, the following offences:

1.Names

  • ✦ Offensive Name. Names that are insulting, racist, sexually related, drug-related, harassing or generally objectionable.
  • ✦ Invalid Name Format. Names that contain parts of sentences (except for guild names), badly formatted words or nonsensical combinations of letters.
  • ✦ Forbidden Advertising. Names that advertise brands, products or services of third parties, content unrelated to the game, or trades for real money.
  • ✦ Unsuitable Name. Names expressing religious or political views, or names that do not fit the medieval fantasy setting of Eclipse.
  • ✦ Name Supporting Rule Violation. Names that support, incite, announce or imply a violation of the Eclipse Rules.

2.Statements

  • ✦ Offensive Statement. Insulting, racist, sexually related, drug-related, harassing or generally objectionable statements.
  • ✦ Spamming. Excessively repeating identical or similar statements, or using badly formatted or nonsensical text.
  • ✦ Forbidden Advertising. Advertising brands, products or services of third parties, content unrelated to the game, or trades for real money.
  • ✦ Off-Topic Public Statement. Religious or political public statements, or statements unrelated to the topic of the used channel or board.
  • ✦ Violating Language Restriction. Non-English statements in boards and channels where English is explicitly required.
  • ✦ Disclosing Personal Data. Disclosing personal data of other people.
  • ✦ Supporting Rule Violation. Statements that support, incite, announce or imply a violation of the Eclipse Rules.

3.Cheating

  • ✦ Bug Abuse. Exploiting obvious errors of the game.
  • ✦ Unofficial Software. Manipulating the official client program or using additional software to play the game.

4.Staff

  • ✦ Impersonating Staff. Pretending to be a representative of Eclipse staff, or to have their legitimation or powers.
  • ✦ Slander or Agitation. Publishing clearly wrong information about Eclipse or calling a boycott against it.
  • ✦ False Reports. Intentionally giving wrong or misleading information to staff in reports, complaints, bug reports or support requests.

5.Legal Issues

  • ✦ Account Trading or Sharing. Offering account data to other players, accepting other players' account data or allowing others to use your account.
  • ✦ Hacking. Stealing other players' account or personal data.
  • ✦ Attacking the Server. Attacking, disrupting or damaging the operation of the Eclipse server.
  • ✦ Violating Law. Violating any applicable law, the Eclipse Service Agreement or the rights of third parties.

Violating or attempting to violate the Tavern Code may lead to a temporary suspension of characters and accounts. In severe cases the removal or modification of character skills, attributes and belongings - or the permanent removal of characters and accounts without compensation - may be considered. The sanction is based on the seriousness of the violation and the previous record of the player, is determined at the sole discretion of Eclipse staff, and can be imposed without warning. These rules may change at any time; all changes will be announced on the website.
